How I Got Into Wedding Videography (and Why I Love It)

The story behind the lens

and why capturing love stories means so much to me.

If you told me a few years ago that I’d be spending my weekends surrounded by wedding dresses, happy tears, and dance floors full of people celebrating love — I probably wouldn’t have believed you. But somewhere between picking up a camera for the first time and capturing my first “I do,” I found something that felt exactly right.

I’ve always been drawn to storytelling — the kind that makes you feel something. Photography came first; it taught me how to see emotion in the small details: the way someone’s hand trembles as they fix their tie, or how a couple glances at each other right before walking down the aisle. But when I started experimenting with video, everything changed.

Suddenly, I could hear the laughter, feel the anticipation, and relive those fleeting moments in motion. It wasn’t just a photo anymore — it was a story unfolding, real and alive. That’s when I knew videography wasn’t just something I wanted to try; it was something I wanted to build my career around.

What I love most about wedding videography is the intimacy of it all. Every couple has a rhythm, a unique energy, and my job is to capture that in a way that feels true to them. Whether it’s the chaos of getting ready, the quiet moments between speeches, or the way the room explodes with joy during the first dance — those are the things that make every film special.

For me, it’s not just about documenting a wedding day. It’s about preserving emotion — the kind you’ll want to feel again years from now.
